7th June 2009 - 'The Plain Explorer'

4 x 4 Treasure Hunt, join us for an early Father's Day Fun Day! To be held on and around the highways and byways of Salisbury Plain. This is a non-competitive event for novices, the experienced and experts - and will be a great day out for all the family.

Times: 9.30am - 4.30pm
Price: £25 per vehicle including one driver,
Numbers limited - first come first served.

Closing date for entries: Friday 29th May 2009

Ensure you read the REGS and complete the ENTRY FORM

I am so glad things are getting off to a good start, however, I think the close off date is a little soon most events leave a shorter time between cut off and event. Good luck anyway.

Looking forward to it. First 4x4 event we have tried for years (and I know a RAV4 isn't a "proper" off-roader - but it should cope with Salisbury Plain in June! Shouldn't it?).

Hi RAVer and welcome. Your RAV4 will be fine on the Plain particularly as it's been dry of recent. The event isn't a 'mud-plugger'. Its designed to get you off the tarmac onto driveable tracks and to enjoy the day (ish - ha). My daughter drove her road tyred Freelander when we did the reccee - no problems. In any event, there is help on hand.

Don't forget that compass!

The event is now done and dusted (or should I say muddied!). A great day - and some great pictures can be found on the 'Gallery' Section of this Forum.

Well done the Charlie Moore for winning the event in his 1957 Series 1 Land Rover.
